Friends of Clark County is a nonprofit, membership-based organization creating, educating and empowering advocates for Smart Growth. Our mission is to conserve and protect Southwest Washington's quality of life.

Clark County's rapid growth brings with it many challenges. Since 1998, Friends has been active and effective in addressing the impacts of growth.

For example, we researched and prepared the "Community Alternative" for the 2004 update to the county's 20-year growth plan.

(Then) County Commissioner Craig Pridemore stated that: "Friends of Clark County was the decisive factor in changing the direction of growth in our community for the next 20 years. Thanks to them, the interests of real citizens were protected."
