In the Summer of 1996, Friends of Clark County was conceived by people who thought there was a need for citizens to come together to address the rapid growth of the community. By Fall, with the help of Futurewise, formerly known as 1000 Friends of Washington, FoCC was organized as an official 501(c)3, with by-laws, board members, and several planned events.

Since its formation, FoCC has hosted leadership training workshops, field trips, educational community forums, and has been instrumental in influencing growth management issues that shape our county.  With almost 400 members countywide, FoCC continues to be a force for preserving our quality of life in Clark County.
